The effect of chills thickness to microstructure and surface hardness layer on specimen ductile cast iron
نویسندگان
چکیده
One of the methods used to surface hardening ductile iron is chilled cast iron. Chill as fast cooling rate in mold during solidification and chill thickness greatly affects hardness layer. The main material iron, SS 304. Casting uses sand casting method. Before pouring, plate has been inserted onto pattern that formed mold, then preheated at 700°C. Pouring was carried out a melting temperature 1400°C, cooled with argon O2 sprays into conditions exactly results analyzed were microstructure, value, This coolant will absorb heat very quickly Cr Ni alloy diffuse specimen stabilize ferrite austenite phases final solidification. particles on hard are ferro carbide M7C3, which form cementite martensitic so categorized white structure area around 1.5-3mm 61-65HRC. But center 31-49HRC.
